Our average scan weight EBV (estimated breeding value) for 2007 is +10.39 KG. This indicates the whole flock is better on average than the TOP 5% on Breed bench marking and just under the top 1%.

Likewise carcase quality for Muscle Depth EBV is 3.25 mm for 2007,better than the Top 5%, and again just under Top 1%.

Uniquely we have been recording Faecal Egg Count (FEC) for some years and are one of only a few to have any meaning full results. There is a real lack of awareness on EBVs for FEC, our rams can and do help worm control, improve performance save on cost.

The flock is being monitored for lambing ease and to that end we are members of the Sheep Easy Group whose object is: "The development of productive, profitable sheep selected to thrive in low input, high welfare, easily managed systems.

Top 3%

Purchase Drinkstone bloodlines and you are buying genetics achieving better than the top 5% of Signet recorded Texels. Based on current 2007 reference averages ram and ewe lambs are achieving average indexes in the top 3% and demonstrating the power base of the genetic merit of this high flying flock.
